How does Smooth and Healthy work? Surface Smooth and Healthy Protein Smoothing Treatment is formulated with Amaranth protein and Babassu penetrating that bonds to the hair making it smoother and stronger. 1. Smoothing Cream softens the structural protein. 2. Amaranth protein and Babassu oil then bind to strengthen, soften and smooth hair. 3. Pressing prior to Locking Lotion enables the structural protein to smooth further. 4. Locking Lotion re-hardens the hair with the Amaranth and Babassu oil attached.
How long does Surface Smooth and Healthy Treatment last and take to do? This treatment is long lasting due to slower reversion. There are three levels of treatment with one formula: Level 1: Smoothing Bath. Hair becomes more manageable, smooth and shiny. May be performed on hair up to 50% highlighted and in good condition. Smoothing effect last 6-8 weeks. Average in salon application: 20 minutes. Level 2: Curl Reduction. Reduces curls, makes hair frizz-free and more manageable. May be performed on hair up to 25% highlighted and in good condition. The results last 2 to 4 months. Average in salon application: 90 min. Level 3: Maximum Smoothing for sleek, silky-smooth, frizz-free and shiny hair. May be performed on hair up to 25% highlighted and in good condition. Smoothing effect lasts 3-5 months. Average in salon application: 3 hours. What type of hair can I use Surface Smooth and Healthy Protein Smoothing Treatment on? Surface Smooth and Healthy Protein Smoothing Treatment is not recommended for fine hair lifted beyond two levels or hair that has been treated with color remover. Evaluate hair condition to determine if the hair qualifies and desired result is achievable. For added condition apply Surface Trinity One Shot prior to each application of Protein Treatment. How long do I have to wait before I shampoo? 48 hours. Can Surface Smooth and Healthy Protein Smoothing Treatment damage the hair? If used incorrectly, yes. Examples of misuse are: - Inaccurate pre evaluation of hair condition may result in damage. - Over combing during application may result in damage and or hair becoming smoother than desired. - Inadequate rinsing for 7 – 9 minutes with as hot of water as comfortable may result in protein odor remaining. - Using at home hair care other than the recommended Surface products may result in damage and early reversion. Can I use It over other relaxers or keratin treatments? Yes. Identify and evaluate the condition of the hair under the keratin treatment. Be sure the condition qualifies. Can I color or highlight afterwards? For best permanent color results book 48 hours after service. Demi or semi-permanent color may be applied immediately following rinsing of Locking Lotion. Add ¼ oz of One Shot to color formula for extra conditioning. Can I swim in the ocean or pools? Yes.
